Records show that when William 11. made the New Forest as a huntingground twenty villages, some quite largo, and about a dozen hajnlets were destroyed. The Suffragan Bishop of Woolwich, Dr Hough, burst into tears_ while officiating at the funeral of his godsop, the Rev L. N. Woolley, vicar of Oatwood, Surrey.
