“D.E.P.”—The old Post Office, now being demolished, was originally built as the Provincial Council Chambers and offices. The work was started in 1863, the contractor being the late Mr George Cornwell, and the building was opened on November 6, 1866. Three days betore the opening fire caused some damage at the rear of the jading.-
