ALL-ELECTRIC HOMES
Two completely equipped electric homes have been displayed in Melbourne (states an exchange). The exterior o) “Carinya,” the larger one, demonstrates the use of electric light in illuminating the name and number o: tho houses, in the garden there lean electric lawn mower. In the pretty entrance porch both bracket and lairtern are displayed, and there are an electric fountain and wired table set for morning tea, with electric teapot, kettle, waffle iron, and toas'"r. An electric bell push, which rings a Dell taking current from the house supply through a bell-ringing transformer is not forgotten. The lounge demonstrates the comforts and conveniences of good lighting; also electric fire, electric piano, electric gramophone with anipli-
tier, desk fan, cigar lighter, elec '.rio ■clock, radio, and telephones. .Further very tine examples ot lighting are shown in tho dining room, brackets being made good use of. J here are also an electric fire, plate wanner drink mixer, coffee percolator, etc. The -sowing room is indirectly lighted, aim shows an electric sewing machine, pressing iron, lire, and fan. The breakfast alcove has egg boiler, toaster, griller, and electric ,jug. In tho bedroom successive displays of different types oi good lighting arc made, and hot water supply, radiator, hod warmer, curling iron, permanent waver, jug, .an, vacuum cleaner, electric clock, and volet ray apparatus aro among the cicctric servants suggested for use here. The kitchen has a daylight lighting unit, with .suitable local lighting oier range, sink, and kitchen cabinet. Hero aro demonstrated hot water supply, range, retrigerator, dish washer, floor polisher, radiator, kitchen servant tor mixing, heating, mincing, etc., exhaust fan, electric clock, telephones, and electric hell. The bathroom has a specially illuminated cloudless shaving ininoi, hot water service, heated screen, towel dryer, exhaust lan, radiator, vibratoi, .steriliser, and hair dryer. The laundry has a. full electrical equipment, including hot water supply, washer, ironcr, drying cupboard, iron, etc. Tho workshop has motor-driven tyre pump, circular saw, soldering iron, glue-pot, lathe, drill, grinder, hand saw, and battery charger. . . , The second home is similarly equipped, with the difference that the equipment is of less expensive type' generally.
