ITALY AROUSED
“VIBRATING WITH INDIGNATION'’ BOMB A TERRIBLE INSTRUMENT OF DEATH Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, HOME, April 12. (Received April 13, at 1.20 p.m.) The city is aghast following the two bomb outrages. Signor Mussolini, in a message to the King, says; “The whole of Italy is vibrating with indignation at the Milan outrage.” It occurred at 10 o'clock in the morning five minutes before the King’s procession passed. Apparently His Majesty’s decision to drive to the fair from tlio train saved his life. Experts say the bomb was of a new type. It was in the shape of a huge grenade, and was so constructed as to burst into hundreds of pieces. Moreover, it was electrically operated. The Jfomb was cunningly secreted inside the lamp-post, the fragments of which were largely responsible lor the slaughter. The explosion damaged houses over a wide area.
There were terrible scenes on the roadways, with mutilated bodies in every direction. An indescribable stampede added to the horror. —Australian Press Association.
