CAR GOES OVER BANK

ONE WOMAN INJURED [Psr United Press Association.] GISBORNE, April 11. A motor car, containing lour passengers, in addition to the driver, went over u hank and into the river betwen Motu and Matawai last evening. One passenger (Mrs VS i Karata) receiver! severe injuries. The car was driven by Douglas Emery. He was conveying four Maori ladies from the Waikato to Tologa Bay. Shortly before reaching Matawai the visibility was bad through mist, and the ear left the road and was hurtled SOt't down a bank into the river. Mrs Karata was pinned beneath the car in the river, and was extricated with considerable difficulty.
