FIRE IN MELBOURNE
FURNITURE STORE GUTTED Press Association— By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, April 11. (Received April 11, at 9.30 a.m.) Fire gutted Ball and furniture store in Faraday street in the city. The damage is esteemed at £70,000. The building was formerly Ball and Welch’s main furniture shop, but was latterly used for storage purposes. The binding was insured for several thousand pounds, hut as the furniture is owned by many _ different people the extent of insurance thereon is _ unknown.—Australian Press Association.
