STRANG GUP RACE A variable north-easi. breeze prevailed on Wednesday evening, when the animal race for the Strang Cup was held by the NoiTli-east Harbor Boating Club. Mavis, Agnes, Betty, and Lassie were the only starters. A good start was made by all the competitors, and (hey remained together during the whole race. T. Round, R. G. Hamilton, and F. Morrison—arrived in Dunedin yesterday afternoon from Christchurch. They left this afternoon for Invercargill, and will cross to Stewart Island to-morrow. Betty was railed from Christchurch on Monday, and was due to reach Half Moon Bay yesterday. Four members of Eileen's crew Messrs G. A. Wiseman (adviser), G. E. Kellett (skipper), A. Booth, and A. Hill left- (his afternoon for the south, on (heir way to Stewart Island. Eileen will be shipped from Bluff tomorrow for Half Moon Bay. ft is expected that, tlie Auckland and Wellington crews will pass through Dunedin early next week on their way to the island. EIGHT OAR ROWING The following crew lias been picked to represent- Lower Harbor in the eight-oar race at Port Chalmers next Monday evening; -A. Glengarry (bow), J. Solomon (7), G. Clark (6), ,1. Braithwaito (5), F. Wilson (4), H. Pritchard (3), C. Nelson (2), L. Lewis (stroke). The crew is composed of four oarsmen from each of the Lower Harbor dubs.
