timaru Kenneth Gordon Veitch, who pleaded guilty to a charge of carnal knowledge, was admitted to probation for two years, Mr Justice Adams stating that the sentence must not be taken to mean that a similar course would be adopted in future cases. Cecil Butter, on a charge of the theft of £76 10s, to which ho pleaded guilty, was sentenced to reformative treatment for a period not to exceed two years. PALMERSTON NORTH In the Supreme Court Corneille Hubert Do May Dathemadc, for attempted sale of stock under bailment to the Crown without authority was sentenced to nine months. Charles George Wilmot Palmer, indecent assault on a male, was sentenced to four years imprisonment.—Press Association.
