The House, in Committee, agreed to the motion requesting the King to direct that a public monument be erected to Earl Haig’s memory.

In the House, Mr Winston Churchill, in reply to a question, said that he had no legal authority to remit the death duties in respect to Earl Haig's War Gratuity.
