IVO WHITTON’S VISIT. [Special to the ‘ Stab. 1 ] WELLINGTON, February 7. An interesting visitor to New Zealand is Ivo Whitton, ex-amateur champion of Victoria. Whitton, who leaves shortly for Auckland, intends visiting Christchurch and Dunedin, the latter in order to play with Dr K. Ross. In a four-ball match which included Sioan Morpeth, Arthur Duncan, and T. H. Horton at Miramar yesterday, Whitton played three rounds in level fours. He did a 70, a 75, and a 71, playing perfect golf, and was 3 up on Morpeth at the end of the day. The evenness of Whitton’s game is shown by the fact that in the whole day ho holed out only one long putt. Bogey at Miramar is 78.
