THE SHARE MARKET
DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. There were no business transactions at this morning’s call of the local Stock Exchange, and no sales were reported. The banking shares wore firm all round. A buyer offered 6s 3d prem. for Commercial Bank rights, and a seller offered to quit at 7s 6d. All the shipping shares were in demand, Huddart-l’arkers being wanted at £2 10s for the ordinary issue and at £1 Os lOd for the preference shares; a seller came on the market for the former at £2 11* 6d. A 'buyer offered £1 11s 9d for Westport Coals, with a seller at £1 12s; the output for last month was slightly in _ advance of that of the corresponding period_ of last year. Dalgctys maintain their high position; a buyer offered £l3 15s this morning, with no declared seller. Goldsbrough, Moris have also improved, a buyer offering £2 7s 6d and a seller declaring himself willing to quit at £2 8s 6d. Not much interest centres round Refrigerating shares at present, and the margin between buyers and sellers is fairly wide. Breweries also are on tlie weak side. An advance in Kawarau* to 8d (buyers) and 9d (sellers) is possibly duo to the proposal to close the gates in the near future. Mount Lyclls arc still firm, and, if anything, arc inclined to harden.' Por Molyneux Electrics a buyer offered 11*, Believe standing off at 17s 6d. The company is likely to acquire several miles of the river adjoining the present claims, and this fact may be responsible for the slight improvement in the buyers’ price. Upper Nevis shares were sought at £1 ss, the nearest seller quoting £1 6s 6d. Quotations were as under:—
