Rumania's five-yoav-old King, Michael 1., is not the youngest child ever to become monarch. King Alphonso XIII., of Spain, holds this record, for he was born king of his country, his father having died ' six months before his birth. A coal miner, Mr John Knight, and his two sons carried off forty-five prizes, including tweuty-onc firsts, at a flower show at Bedworth, Warwickshire. One juvenile member of the family exhibited the second prize winning bouquets in a class confined to the children of Bedworth. Doctor: “Madam, jour husband is smoking himself to death.” Wife; “ Yes, yes, doctor, but how long will take?”
