RUGBY IN FRANCE PARIS, January 14. In view of the South-west of France’s success against the Waratahs, the newspapers discuss the proposal to abolish all-France teams, substituting regional fifteens. AQUATICS POET CHALMERS CLUB RACES. The Port Chalmers Yacht and Motor Boat Club held its second senes of. races on Saturday afternoon under favorable conditions. Moller. , The Chairman explained that tne meeting was held lor the purpose of clearing up accounts in connection wirii the recent regatta and to receive the treasurer’s rough statement of_ receipts and expenditure. He referred to the successful function which had been held on Boxing Day, and expressed ins thanks to all those members of tne various committees, in addition to tne various ofiicials, for the excellent work carried out by one and all. The committee’s thanks were also due to the ladies for their willing help, and the residents generally for their assistance towards such a successful gathering. The secretary came in for a, special word of praise for the manner in winch he had carried out his many duties. The treasurer’s financial showed a credit balance of over £3O from the regatta, which was considered by members to be highly satisfactory. It was resolved that a donation of £3 be made to the Boating Club for the use of its shed, and that the sec-

The matter of the formation of a rowing branch in connection with the club’s activities was reported as having been satisfactorily carried cut, and a request was made for tho committee’s financial assistance.
