Bush fires are sweeping through the Otway and Dandenong Ranges, causing extensive damage. A number of homesteads have been destroyed, and much valuable timber in Beach Forest has been demolished. Several townships were saved by a fortunate change of wind. OUTBREAKS IN TASMANIA. HOBART, January 12. Bush fires are raging in the southern parts of the Hnon district and on the west coast, causing heavy damage.
