WARATAHS BEATEN IN FRANCE. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. PARIS, July .12. (Received January 13, at 1 p.m.) The South-west of France defeated the Waratahs by 19 points to 10. Tho Wnraitnhs were beaten in a fast , keen game, in which the Frenchmcnts dash and speed, particularly in tho back division, kept the Waratahs on tenterhooks from tho start. Tho Frenchmen overcame the handicap of losing the scrums by good combined work, in which A. Behotcguy was most prominent. The lino wa.s always in danger when he had possession. In tho second half the Waratahs started well, and hammerer] away with their usual vigor, but could not break the French defence.
