SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

DUNEDIN'S BIG FIXTURE ENTRIES RECEIVED On Saturday, January 21, will commence in Dunedin one of the greatest aquatic fixtures ever held in the south, when the New Zealand national swimming championships will open at the Municipal Baths in the afternoon, continuing in the evening and throughout the following week. Entries for the meeting closed on Tuesday last, and while perhaps they are not as large for the senior division as was the case at Auckland last year, taken allround they are of very satisfactory dimensions, the intermediate boys’ division being a particularly strong class.. The main Hawke’s Bay nominations, for seven or eight events, have not yet come to hand, so that the list is still incomplete. The Hawke’s Bay fees arrived, but accompanying them was merely a blank entry form, and the Otago Centro is still awaiting advice as to the events in which the Hawke’s Bay swimmers are entered. The Hawke’s Bay nominations that have not come to hand probably include that of Miss L. Hood, the New Zealand ladies’ diving champion. The entries, excepting those from Hawke’s Bay, are ajs follows: FIRST DAY, JANUARY 21.
