BARR’S COMEDIANS
‘ Up in Mabel’s Room,’ the farcical comedy to be presented at His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday, January 14, is a scream of laughter from beginning to end. It has been described as a farce with the provocation to the most excessive risibility. in New York and London it had very extensive rims, and was considered the most successful production of tho season. The story is all about the umicnlties that a young m'an meets through being foolish enough to make indiscreet presents to an attractive young widow in Paris in his pre-mip-tial days. After his marriage to another ivoman his wife learns of his follies, and then the troilblo begins. His endeavors to got out of it are screamingly funny, particularly the antics of hij butler, who gives him so-called assistance. W. J. C. Barr’s Comedians, who are presenting the comedy, are a very talented company ydio were, specially selected. Miss Zara Clinton, the leading lady, is an English actress, who was brought over from Canada, where she was under contract to tho transCanadian chain of theatres for seven years. Mr Billy O’Hanlon is a youthful comedian who lias a high reputation in London as a musical comedy and farcical artist. The others of the company are all well-known actors, and include Messrs Eric Harrison, Warwick Beattie, A. Brandon Cremer, Thomas M'Dermott, Misses Hilda Attenboro, Shirley Cooke, and Sybil Atholwood. ‘ Up in Mabel’s Room ’ will be played for one week, and on the following Saturday anotner farce, ‘Oh, Richard! How Could You?’ will be presented. The box plan opens next Wednesday.
