GERMANY’S INDEBTEDNESS
PROPOSAL TO DEFINITELY FIX TOTAL. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, December 20. (Received December 21, at 1.30 a.m.) It is stated that Mr A. W. Mellon, Secretary to the Treasury, supported the recommendation of Mr_ ParkerGilbert that the total German indebtedness to the Allies be definitely fixed, and that Germany bo permitted to assume the burden on tho basis of knowing what ' she owed her war-time enemies. Mr Mellon did not believe that the question of interallied debts would be involved in such rearrangement.
