DRUIDISM

The fortnightly meeting ot Enterprise Lodge iv;is held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Kensington, hist Wednesday, there being a good attendance of members. During the evening one honorary member was initiated by A.D. Bro. Bond. The installation of officers was ably carried out by D.P. Bro. Maybcc, assisted by P.D.P. Pro. H. lord, tho lodge according tho installing officers a hearty vote of thanks. The balancesheet of tho lodge was presented by the secretary and adopted. As next meeting will'be the last this year it was decided to hold the usual children’s night on that date. The annual meeting of Ivanhoe Lodge was held on Wednesday evening, A.D. Bro. J. Reeves presiding over a good attendance of members and visitors. Tho ordinary business of the meeting being transacted, the meeting was adjourned to enable outside friends and relatives of members to attend. The principal function of tho meeting was tho unveiling of a brass memorial tablet in honor of the members who served and fell during tho great struggle of 1914-18. Like all other brethren of the order, Ivanhoe Lodge had erected a memorial to their members, but the passing of time showed that tho material chosen was not of the permanent nature that such a historic monument should be, and so a beautiful chased and engraved brass tablet was procured in its stead, and this was duly unveiled. The G.P. ot the order, Bro. A. Sherborne, made a special journey from Inveroargill to bo prcsGivfc and lake pait in the ceremonial, the religious portion of which was feelingly conducted by the Rev. W. Walker, of the Central Mission. Accompanied by tho executive officers and Board of Management, Bro. Sherborne was welcomed by the Arch Druid and took his place upon tho platform. Tho service opened with praise and prayer, and the G.P., in a few well-chosen and feelipg sentences, undraped the memorial which had been erected to the valor and the sacrifice oi those never-to-be-forgotten days. Iho Official Chaplain and P.D.P. Bro. J. T. Faulds added their tribute to the glorious dead, and the simple and impressive ended with the ‘ Last Post.’ tho singing of ' Abide With Me, and the haunting strains of the ‘Reveille.’ A public installation was held, when the following officers took their places in the lodge;—A.D., Bro. F. E. Reeves; V.A., Bro. J. T. Clark; Secretary,, Bro. H. Brockie (re-clcctcd); Treasurer. Bro. C. H. Wilson (reelected) ; T.G., Bro. A. H. S. Matliio; 0.G., Bro. J. Brockie; A.D. Bards, Bros. T. A. Borrow and W. Graham; V.A. Bards, Bros. W. T. Gray and W. J. Rainbow; M.C., Bro. J. D. Sinclair; Minute Secretary. Bro. W. Brockie; Pianist, Bro. A. T. Smith. The D.P. of No. 1 District., Bro. J. Walker, officiated, and was assisted by P.D.P. Bro. J. T.’ Faulds. The musical section of the service was supplied by Bro. Fyfe (solo). Bugler Bro. Fowler, Miss Ross, and Bro. Williams acting as accompanists. Supper, was _ provided by the lodge for its guests in the Tivoli Restaurant. . , Progress Juvenile Lodge held its last meeting for the year on Wednesday night m the Methodist Church Hall. Wesley street, A.D. Bro. Thorburn presiding over a largo attendance of members. Two new members were initiated. The lodge closed early to enable the members to be entertained by the Executive .Committee, a function which the boys thoroughly enjoyed. After the members had oartaken of a hearty
