AMENDING REGULATIONS. [Per United Press Association,] WELLINGTON. December 115. In the ‘ Gazette ’ which was issued to-night regulations arc published under the Education Act, 1914, amending these at present in feree relating to the attendance registers and returns of public* schools (salaries, grading, staffing, etc.), incidental expenses of secondary schools, manual and technical instruction. school and class libraries, payment of subsidies on voluntary contributions, payments to members of the General Council of Education and district advisory committees, examination and classification of teachers, training colleges, leave of absence, free places ,in secOndary schools, district high schools, technical high schools and technical schools and classes, and the length of the school year; and also relating to the payment of grants in aid of free kindergarten schools, to examinations f(»r elementary kindergarten certificates, and to free school books and stationery in certain cases. The regulations como into force on February 1 next.
