Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright,
CANBERRA, November 26

It is learned that the hesitation before duplication of the cable is decided on is due not ti any feeling on the part of Canada that beam wireless is likely to‘affect adversely the revenue from the cable, but because the Canadian Government required guarantees about the disposal of largo profits from the cable system at the time of duplication. It is pointed out that it is believed that the revenue from the cables would bo maintained and that Canada had demanded an undertaking that the profits to be earned after the duplication of the service would not bo transferred to the maintenance account, but would be devoted to repaying to interested parties the amounts they bad advanced < towards the creation of the system. It is claimed that Canada disregarded the communication from Australia and New Zealand.
