In addition to votes on tho Supplementary Estimates already indicated, tho Internal Affairs Department has a vote of £4,250 for the purchase of land in connection with tho Taupo fisheries. Compassionate allowances to be voted arc: £1,250 to Hie AvidoAv of the late Hon. R. F. Bollard; £234 to the widoiv of the late T. H, Hamer; £470 to the AvidoAv of the late AV. Joliflc {former film censor); Ncav Zealand^ representation on tho International Economic and Naval Conference, £550. Subsidy grants include £SOO on a £ for £ basis to tho Girl Guides; £IOO on £ for £ basis for LaAvrence flood relief; £349 on the same basis for Westport floods relief. Health Department votes include additional grants to tho Karitane Hospital (Christchurch) building £SOO, Karitane Hospital (Auckland) building £250, Karitane Hospital (Wellington) maintenance £I,OOO, subsidies towards tho salaries of Blanket nurses £I,OOO. Administration expenses in, tho deteriorated lands account require a vote of £7,000. The Department of Agriculture has votes of £525 (Auckland University College), £SOO (Victoria University College) for agricultural instruction, and it requires" £IO,OOO additional to pay rail, freight, and concessions on manures. An additional subsidy to tho Teachers’ Superannuation Fund amounts to £25,000. An additional £5,400 is provided for maintenance Avorks at Central Otago irrigation works. There arc Education , Department grants to Otago University to assist meeting the 1926 deficit, £3,000; to provide additional maintenance for (ho now Medical and Dental School buildings, £1,000; national research scholarships, £260.
