White to the members of the Otago and Southland branch of Now Zealand Optometrists. _ The address was entitled Ihe Effects of Drugs in the Eye in Relation to Optometrv.’ Mr While explained in detail the action of the most commonly occurring drugs in the eye, also the detrimental effects which certain drugs had. On the motion of the president (Mr W. V. Stunner) a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the lecturer, the mover pointing out the value of such lectures to the students of tha association. The executive reported that it had been able to have elementary optometry placed on the syllabus of "the Otago' Technical College, and Imped, that students would take tincourse before receiving more advanced lectures.
