NEW WOOL PACK
THE SYDNEY INVENTION LONDON BUYERS UNIMPRESSED. press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, November 24. (Received November 2G, at l.dO a.iu.) Twelve bales of Wingadce wool, in tbo now hemp-lined pack, invented by Mrs Mary Baird, of Sydney, were exhibited on the London docks wool floor. Buyers did not show much interest, and some experts do not consider that the pack is likely to be a success. They prefer Akroyd's. [Discussing the subject of jute fibres for wool packs at the International Wool Conference in Germany, Mr Hodgson (Bradford) said the position would be more acute presently, because inferior iute packs were being used in Australia and New Zealand. Experiments were being continued at Bradford with an 'all-wool pack, and also with jute, rubber treated, but the most hopeful thing was Akroyd’s wire and paper pack, which had withstood the severest tests. Samples were be,ing forwarded to Australia, to bo returned filled with wool,, so that results cotild be tabulated by June or JuJj.]
