Walter William Vickery was tried n the Supremo Court, New Plymouth, ccharges of manslaughter negligcm. driving, and driving a car while intoscated ' Tiie charges arose from an accident at Manaia, when a motor cvclist named Otto Araleton _ w;as knocked down and received injuries which proved fatal. Vickery was found guilty of negligent driving only. Mr Justice Ostler deferred sentence. At Mothveu, Hastings Ireland, married, and Alexander Thomson, single, both laborers, were jointly charged with and entering n. C Batter son’s premises on Friday, November 11. Ireland was further charged with sotting fire to the promises, The accused pleaded guilty, and were committed to the Supremo Court for sentence. Bail was not asked for.—Ashburton message.
