Tlic Riga correspondent of ‘ The Times’ reports .that Kameneff, an antiStaliniie, speaking at the Communist Conference, .was howled down, but managed to -interject: “ Communism Is heading for an abyss.” The Stalinites replied : “Tlie abyss is yawning for you, not for us.” When Stalinites «shouted _ clown Rakdvsky in the presence of foreigners, Rnkovsky said to the latter; “ Now you see wbat democracy exists in Russia.” STRUGGLE INTENSIFYING. (Received November 24, at 1.30 a.m.) The Riga correspondent of 1 The Times ’ says that the struggle between the Stalinits and tiie Oppositionists is intensifying, the former’s threats of prison meeting with-counter threats of violence. A paper thrown on the platform at the Communist conference was inscribed, “The time is coming when we shall hang, strangle, and shoot you Stalinists.” The Soviet Poet Laureate, M. Bicduy, complains that the Oppositionists threaten to murder him unless ho refrains from lampooning them.—‘ The Times.’ TROTSKY FACING POVERTY. , LONDON, November 23. (Received November 24, at 8.45 a.m.) Tlic ‘Daily Mail’s’ Riga correspondent says that Trotsky is reported to ho facing paverty.
