Lord Nepean failed to get away properly, and Amaris led piust the stand from Black Lila, Holly Boy i who : Awoke), hirst Carbine, Jewel Pointer, and Cardinal Logan. Before the top was reached Amaris broke and lost Ins position. Black Lila was in charge as they came through the straight tile second time from Jewel Pointer, First Carbine, Cardinal Logan, Holly Boy, and Amaris. The order of the leading quartet was the same along the bank and across the top the last time. Black Lila was the first to turn for borne from Jewel Pointer, with First Carbine and Cardinal Logan well buck. Jewel Pointer bud no trouble to win by two lengths from Black Lila, who beat Amaris by eight lengths. First Carbine was three lengths further back, with Cardinal Logan next. All started for the Visitors' Handicap, and Sister Beatrice was made a slightly better favorite than Tiger Salvo, with Ngatira next fancied. Tiger Salve led past the stand from Mntn, Bister Beatrice, Ngatira, The Tartar, and Peter APKinncy. When they came round again Tiger Salve was attended by Sister Beatrice, The Tartar, Ngaiira, and Mntn. Tiger Salvo and Sister Beatrice went on to beat liim by a length, with Peter M'Kinncy two lengths away third, followed by The Tartar, Main, and Ngatira. '(Tie Rcratcbings reduced the mile saddle event, the Dunedin Handicap, to a. one-dividend field. Amaris was favorite, carrying more Ilian Black Lila, with the bracket, Holly Boy and Nelson Fame, next in request. Amaris 1 led past the stand from Blade Libj I Nelson Fame, Molly Boy, and Anselm. Crossing the lop Nelson Fame ran up second to Amaris, with Black Lila next. Amaris and Nelson Fame came in the straight almost on terms, and in the nm to the post Nelson Fame won hy half a length from Amaris, with Black Lila a, similar distance away third, I Anselm and Lady Dmnnoro were next.
