The following is the Taranaki Oilfields, Ltd., report for theweek ended November 19;—Waiapu No. 2 well, depth 2,595 ft in grey shale, B.liu diameter, casing to 2,576 ft; Gisborne No. I well, depth 1,500 ft in sandy shale cemented, lOin diameter casing at 1,500 ft on November 17. WELLINGTON LOAN PROPOSALS. [Pan United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, November 22. Three loans totalling £290,875 were carried at a poll to-day, 7,137 ratepayers voting out of a total on the roll of 28,853. For the street paving loan of £201,000 3,548 voted in favor and 3,314 against. For the construction of footpaths loan of £63,000 4,059 voted in favor and 2,818 against. For the conveniences loan of £26,875 4,025 voted in favor and 2.762 against. This loan, of £290,875, when presented in one issue, was rejected by the ratepayers in September last.

The ‘Morning Post’ understands that Hie underwriting will take place on November 22 of a Commonwealth loan of £7,1100,000 at 5 per cent., issuing at 97f and redeemable from 1945 to 75. This represents the raising of fresh money required by both the Commonwealth and certain States, and is in accordance with the new and .better system of co-ordinating Australian borrowing.
