EVIDENCE CONCLUDED fPaK Uf.-nim Press Assocutjok.J WELLINGTON, November 15. The Labor Bill Committee concluded taking evidence concerning the Arbitration Bill to-day. Mr Nash, secretary of tho Now Zealand Labor Party, said that from the period 1890-99 to 1925-2(5 the returns from dairy products had doubled in price. Tho prices tor cheese had gone up 111 per cent., and butter 98 per cent. Comparing tho 1913-14 prices with 1925-2 G, butter up Oj per cent, and cheese up 45 per cent. Prom tho period 1890-99 to 19Lu-‘-G wages had halved. What he meant was that for every £ realised by dairy products from 1890 to 1599 dairy workers got 2s. To-dav they got lid. Tile Minister remarked that the figures were not worth the paper they were written on. Mr Nash, proceeding, said that during the war year employees did not get higher wages in proportion to higher prices, and now that prices were lower it was the desire of factories .to fix wages in accordance with world parity. The committee will meet later in the week to consider its report.
