WEATHER DELAYS START. SAN FRANCISCO, November 11. Captain Giles has announced the postponement of his flight until the conditions are more favorable. The United States Weather Bureau warned him that to attempt to fly to Hawaii would ho suicidal, and suggested at least a two-day delay.

DEATH OF BRITISH PILOT

EVIDENCE AT INQUEST. LONDON, November 13. (Received November 14, at 1.30 a.m.) At the inqupst on the victims of the East Griinstpd air crash the evidence showed that the pilot lost his way owing to a deranged compass when trying to return to Croydon, and ran short of petrol. The pilot and his companion had a dramatic telephone talk in midair. The former insisted that the latter should jump first, and gave him careful instructions how to use the parachute, then tried to drop off himself when in a nose dive, with the result that the parachute did not open in time.
