ANOTHER WAR PICTURE. Comedy, romance, and drama are admirably blended in ‘ What Price Glory?’ a William Fox production, which comes to the Octagon and Empire Theatres on Friday next. The leading roles, those of Captain Tlagg and Sdi'gt. Quirt, arc taken by A ictor M'Lagleu and Edmund Lowe, and they are assisted bv a cast which includes Dolores Del Rio, William V. Along, Rhvllis Haver, and August Tollaire. As a play ‘ What Price Glory?’ was a wonderful production, and none of the vitality of the original stage production has been lost in the screen translation. It adheres truly to the play in all its essential details, and improves upon it in tlic war scenes. Tho theme concerns the lives of two sergeants. Quirt and Flagg, who arc on duly in China. They arc both good soldiers, but in of the heart they are hitler rivals. Quirt, sleek and suwe, is always tho victor where women arc concerned, When they arc transferred to the Philippines tho” same state of things continues. When tho World War breaks out Flagg lias been promoted to a captaincy, while Quirt is still a sergeant, One day Flagg's company returns from tho iniimlinc vcrv-hadlv knocked about. He receives word that a new senior servant is being transferred to him. Later Sc meets Charmaiuc, a French peasant, with whom he hills in love. Tlic new sergeant turns out to he Quirt, and the old order at once returns. Wien Flagg <r o es on leave Quirt at once steals Cnaimninc. From there onwards the story advances to a powerful climax, and tho two heroes march off arm in arm. Not only is tho picture authentic in the w.n details, hut a number of the actors reenact the deeds which they peiloimcd in earnest during the war.
