SUNDAY NIGHT CONCERT AT BEACH
The St. Hilda Municipal Band, weather permitting, will render a programme from the St. Kilda rotunda to-morrow at 8 p.m. The programme discloses good things: beyond items of well-known worth, a Crystal Palace contest test, Percy Fletcher’s tone poem, ‘ Labor and Love,’ will be submitted for the first time. Opening with delicate work from the basses, a brilliant movement is developed by cornets; horn and euphonium find prominence in solo work. The finale is rich in beautiful chords, and fittingly closes an exceptionally fine number.
