Bray Bros., Ltd., report as follow’s for the week ended to-day;— There is practically nothing to report regarding tho wheat market, as it has been exceptionally quiet during the past week. Fowl wheat is quoted at (is fid, ex truck, Dunedin (sacks extra) A few shipments of oats are being made to the North Island. The, Manuka took about 2,000 sacks of A grade Gartons to Melbourne. This shipment will pretty well clean up local holdings. A Gartons are worth 3s 6d, f.0.b., s.i., and B’s 3s 3d. These prices are equivalent to 2s 8d and 2s fid on trucks, country sidings (sacks extra). Consignments of chaff are on tho light side They are sufficient, however, to meet the demand. Millers’ prices are as follows : Flour: 200’s, £l7 Ss; 50‘s, £lB 10s; 2S's, £l9; 100’s, £lB ss. Bran; £6. Pollard: £B. Oatmeal; 25’s, £l9; 200'a, £lB. The potato market has taken a sudden jump upwards. Auckland merchants have been active during the past few days, and there are no surplus stocks in the north. Holders in the South island have also been depleted of stocks. A few growers who are holding lines have increased their quotes, and tho market has advanced £2 per ton for f.a.q., tubers which wore saleable at £4 ss, f.o.b. (sacks included), early in tho week. Tho advance is due to the fact that the new potato season in Auckland is much later than usual. Reports also state that the new potato crop will not bo a heavy one. Freshlypicked lines are worth £6 to £fi 10s (bags in), ex truck, Dunedin. There is nothing to report in the seed market. Values remain unchanged from last week. Business in the fruit marts has been fairly quiet during the week owing to the short supply of fruit. Consignments of American apples which pamo forward sold readily at high prices, and the demand is greater than tho supply. We sold French Qub cooking apples in our rooms during the week at 13s per case. Tho Manuka brought 48 cases of South Australian oranges, each case containing 112 oranges. These were sold at 4Us fid per case, something in the nature of a record price for Dunedin. The orange crops in Australia have not been very largo this season. A similar quantity of lemons also arrived by the same boat. The Waikouaiti, due on November 15, is bringing a small parcel of Australian fruits. The market is, quite .bare of supplies of Island oranges. Further supplies are expected about tho middle of next week. American grapes, ex Tahiti from Wellington, were sold at 30s per barrel. Island tomatoes also arrived ex Tahiti. There were 500 to 600 cases in the shipment, and the supply affected the sale of Christchurch and local hot-house-grown. A small lot of pears from Christchurch cool store brought very high prices. Asparagus is still arriving freely from Christchurch. Green peas are also coming in more plentifully, ami prices have eased. New potatoes are a little more plentiful, but reports go to show that the North Island crop is a light onc._ Swede turnips are now practically finished lor tho season. Cabbage and cauliflower are scarce, and are inquired for; also cucumbers. The following prices were realised during tho week: — Narcissi, 6s dozen bundles. Lily of valley, 4s to 6s dozen. Section honey, 9s to 10s 6d. Asparagus.—Christchurch, 10s to 14s; On train, to 235. Cucumbers, 7s 6d, 12s, 16s. Lettuce.—Choice, 5s fid; others, Is fid, 4s.
