Tho Orient Company, after receiving five tenders, ordered a mail passenger steamer for the Australian service from Vickers, the builders of the Orama, the Otranto, and tho Orford. It will be of larger tonnage—namely, 22,000 — head there was a belief that the nation body the latest developments m marine architecture.
