For the first time in the history of the world tlio ■ British Broadcasting Company’s 'announcer will say on Friday evening; “This is BBC calling the British Isles,' the British Empire, the States of America, and the Continent of Europe, from London, < England.” The Prince of Wales’s voice will bo beard throughout the world when he makes his speech at Albert Hall. Every part of the Empire cooperating, as well as America, trance, Holland, Italy, Spain, and Germany. It is estimated that within one-mteenth of a second after a word is spoken it will be heard in Australia, one-thirtieth ■ of a second in Canada and the United States. . , , . Painstaking experiments have been carried out night ami day by BBC engineers to ensure world-wide transmission, and, given fairly satisfactory atmospheric conditions, the broadcast should carry around tho globe, constituting a veritable romance of wireless.
