NEW YORK, November 9. The financial editor of ‘The Times’ says that the Union Oil Company and the California and Atlantic Refining Company, according to information received in the financial district to-day, plan the formation of a joint company to enter the Australian and Far Eastern markets.

The former concern has been operating in Australia for some time, but only to a limited extent, while tho present plans call for one of the most ambitious projects of the kind undertaken by American oil interests for some years. With the construction in Australia and possibly flie Far East of refineries, service stations, and distributing depots, it is expected that booh after January a tanker service from the Pacific coast to Australia will be started.
