A return has been prepared showing the estimated population of Now ’Zealand, with its dependencies and mandated territory:— Estimated population of New Zealand Proper (including Maoris) at September 31), 1927.—Males, 735,709; females, 704,706; total, 1,440 ; 415. Estimated population of Cook Islands, Nino, etc., on June 30, 1927.—Males, 7,204 ; females, 0,974; total, 14,178. Population of Tokelau Islands at Census of 1926.—Males, 523; females, 510; total, 1,033. Estimated population of mandated territories of Western Samoa. —Males, 22,111; females, 20,228; total, 42,339. Estimated total population ot Dominion of Now Zealand, dependencies, and mandated territory.—Males, 765,547 ; females, 732.418; total, 1,497,965. New Zealand Proper at September 30, 1927, estimated population (excluding Maoris)’.— Males. 702,039; females, 673,918; total, 1,375,957. New Zealand Proper, estimated Maori population.—Males, 33,670; females, 30,788; total, 64,458.
