WAR BONDS FRAUD

PARIS November 8, (Received November 9, at 11,45 a.m.) ‘ Lo Matin’ publishes a story of an extensive fraud whereby hundreds of Hungarian pre-war bonds were falsified. by means of acid, then ncwlystamped so as to be convertible in Franco into gold. The plot was detected when the bonds were presented at the bank, and resulted in tho arrest of a Czccho-Siovakian hanker named John Bhunenstein and a Rumanian broker named Stefan Touhini.
