During last year it is definitely traced that ho killed 16 women, aged from 14 to GO, never robbing them, bub invariably leaving behind evidence of his gorilla clutch. This year lie killed live, including three near Winnipeg. Tho evidence showed that bo killed Lola Cowan early in the forenoon, walked out of tho city, and hogged a ride from a, passing motorist. A tyro burst opposite a farm house, and while the motorist mended it Nelson walked leisurely in, and found the fanner’s wife alone. He strangled her, and threw her body under tho bed, and then helped himself to the dinner, and walked unconcernedly back to the motor ear.
Nelson was r>irried, and employed as a machinist. Ho bad been in an insane asylum, but escaped. Ho was kind to his wife, who had no suspicion of his fearful deeds.—Sydney ‘ Sun ’ Cable.
[A previous message stated that Earle Nelson was sentenced to death at Wi nuipeg for the murder of two women. It is alleged that, previous to capture by the Winnipeg police, Nelson outraged and strangled 20 women in various cities of flic United States.]
