NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIAN LAND COMPANY. HEAVY LOSS FOR YEAR. LONDON, November 7, (Received November 8, at 12.40 p.m.) Tho New Zealand and Australian Land Company’s loss for the year was £57,203. From the contingency fund £146,000 was transferred, and £9,430 was carried forward. ' GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Donald Reid and Co., Ltd., report: Oats.—There is little to report in this market. Farmers have still a few on hand, but merchants aro not operating to any extent, prices required in most cases being much too high for shipping purposes- A grade Cartons are worth 2s Bd, B grade 2s Gel (sacks extra, on truck, country' stations). AVheat.—The bulk of this cereal lias all bccu marketed. Millers have ample stocks, and fowl feed is worth to Gs Gd (sacks extra, ex truck, Dunedin). Chaff.—An absence of consignments has made the market a good deal keener. The local demand, however, is never large, and a few trucks generally fill all requirements. Any trucks of prime quality 'coming forward meet with ready sale at values up to £5 5s per tun (sacks extra, ex truck, Dunedin). Medium jm! inferior aro rarely inquired for. Potatoes.—Good sound, freshly-picked lines aro in keen demand, and values are increasing every day. The new potatoes arc later than usual, and tin’s is probably' tho cause of increased values.
