BRITAIN LOSES £37,009

LONDON, November 7. (Received November 8. at 1.30 a.m.) The ‘ Daily New ’ says that £37,000 is irrecoverably lost to Britain. _ This sum was due to Britain on the winding up of the fund for repatriating Rumanian, Polish, and Czecho-Sloyakian prisoners. A Whitehall official forgot to send the account to Gene /a, where the officials failed to notice the omission, wherefore the fund was wound up without Britain getting the money.— Sydney, ‘Sun’- .Cable,
