MURDER OF GRAZIER
ARTICLES IN NEWSPAPER 'APPLICATION BY, ACCUSED. Pom Asjociation’—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, October 27. 'An action has been begun in which Hubert Higgs, Bruce Higgs, and William Higgs are applying to the Full Court for writs of attachment against Robert Clyde Packer, printer and publisher of the ‘Daily Guardian’ newspaper, and the proprietors of the 4 Daily Guardian ’ for contempt of court in publishing three articles at different dates givinig alleged details of the_ murder of Ronald Leslie, . The applicants are now on remand, charged with the murder of Leslie, and they allege that the articles in the 4 Guardian ’ were of such a nature as to prejudice the fairness of their trial.
[Ronald Lachlan Leslie, a grazier, and a man of means, left his homo in Manly by motor car on October 13 to visit one of his country properties at 8 o’clock in the morning. The _ same evening the car was found standing on a road off the Main Western road, near Blaxland, and Leslie was inside dead, with three bullet wounds in the chest. He had apparently been dead for some time. The police arrested three brothers named Higgs in connection with the murder.]
