NOISY MOTORS

HOSPITAL PATIENTS DISTURBED Complaints Jiavo frequently been made of the noise made by inconsiderate motorists when passing the Dunedin Hospital. . At the meeting of the Hospital Hoard last night a letter was received from the Town Clerk in connection with a complaint made by the board on the subject. It was stated that the council's inspectors intended to give special attention to the locality with a view of stopping the nuisance. Mr Larnaeh asked what effect the inspectors would have. Had they noticed the “welcome” the magistrate gave an inspector the other clay? How could the traffic be regulated if they treated the inspectors like that in court? Mr Dove suggested that Dunedin .should do as Christchurch had done and appoint special constables. Dr Newlands remarked that while he was visiting the hospital the other evening a corporation bus went by making a big noise and a big smoke. It was decided to express thanks lo Urn corporation.
