Our Christchurch correspondent telegraphs that tho balance-sheet ol the Kaiapoi Woollen Manufacturing Company, Ltd., which was issued yesterday, shows a profit on the year’s working of £8,383, hut an allowance of £3,500 is made out of this for depreciation. The directors recommend a dividend of 6 per cent, on cumulative preference shares, absorbing £3,911, leaving £972 to ho carried forward. There is no dividend for ordinary shareholders, who have roundly a quarter of a million in the company.
