KO LEADER YET APPOINTED APPEAL TO “ DEMOCRATIC " MEMBERS [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, August 19. Dr W. H. Horton presided at a meeting of about sixty persons last night to officially unfurl the flag of Liberalism. He said that tho decent people of New Zealand, who, were becoming more and more dissatisfied with ■ the policy and methods of the party in power, were combining to secure a Government expressing their aspirations. It was stated that no choice of a leader had yet been made, Air Veitch having consented to act temporarily, and Air Forbes having declined for the present to drop the Nationalist Party’s title. It was resolved—” That it bo a recommendation from this meeting to democratic representatives in Parliament to use every endeavor to bring about the union of tho democratic forces of this country on a common policy.
