On Wednesday evening there was a large attendance in the Allanton Public Hall to hear Air George Beath and his Dunedin concert party. The concert, which was in aid of school funds, was presided over by Air E. F. Evans (chairman of the School Committee). A first-class programme was much appreciated, and after supper had been handed round a successful evening was concluded with a dance, tho music being provided by Air Beath’s orchestra. The programme comprised tho following items Selections by the orchestra, Alessrs Beath, Faigan, and Pettit; songs, Air Snell; Highland dances, Aliss Fox; character songs, Miss Duncan; violin solos, Air G. Beath; comic songs, Air Hudson; saxophone solos, Mr Faigan; recitations. Miss Jefferson. The accompaniments were played by Air A. Pettit.
