ECONOMIC LOCARNO
FRANCO-GERMAN COMMERCIAL AGREEMENT. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright PARIS, August 17. (Received August 18, at 1 p.m.) Described as an economic Locarno, the Franco-German Commercial Agreement operates for eighteen months from September 6 next. The text is not yet published, but it is officially stated that Frencli agricultural products, textiles, metallurgical products, shoes, perfumery, and porcelain, are the chief items to benefit from tne reduced German tariffs. Among the German exports chemical products, machinery, cement, china, and leather goods gain specially by the application to them of tho minimum French tariff,—A. and N.Z. and ‘ Sun ’ Cable.
