SACCO AND VANZETTI
APPEAL TO SUPREME COURT HEW TRIAL WANTED PfO*s Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, August Iff. (Received August 17, at 10.10 a.m.) Four justices of the Massachusetts Supreme Court, sitting at Boston as a full bench, heard argument on the exceptions taken by counsel for Sacco ami Vanetti to the decisions made by Judges Thayer and Sanderson. The main object of the pleadings tendered by the counsel for the defence is to obtain a new trial. Counsel based his strongest argument on the alleged prejudice of Judge Thayer, which, be claimed, had precluded a fair and impartial trial; but the Attorney-General, in reply, described the proceedings merely as a device for a further delay of the executions. The bench reserved its decision till the 19 th inst. Meantime Sacco has broken his hunger strike as the result of threats of forcible feeding.
