Serious damage has been done to the cotton crops in Western India by the recent floods in Gujrat and Kathiawar, The loss is estimated at 150,000 bales in the lower £sind area. Largo areas of cotton have been destroyed in other districts. BUTTER AND CHEESE, ' / The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cable from London, dated 10th inst.: —New Zealand butter, I7os to 1725, market is quiet; cheese, 92s to 91s, market is steady.
