Royal Mint was made a slightly bettor favorite than Chickwheat and Nukumai (who had A. E. Ellis up' in the Islington Handicap, IJm, with Black Mint, Taboo (Solfcrino —Renaulph’s danghter, ridden by F. E. Jones), and Treshani. Nukumai started from behind the field, and Taboo and Royal Mint were the first out. _ Going along the back Taboo was showing the way to Indian Sage, Shandre, and Soltoe, and at the far turn Taboo was two lengths clear of Indian Sage, witii Shandre, Beau Geste, and Nukumai next. Taboo led Indian Sage into the straight, and the pair shook off all challengers, the former winning by t-o lengths. Beau Geste was nearly a length off third, followed by Royal Mint.
